Computing Services and system development provides support services to manage all notification concerning copyright infringement at the University. Managing these notifications include acknowledgement, tracking, notification, and remediation of the problem.
Relevant policies and guidelines should be created to manage the copyright infringement.
i. Acceptable Computing Access and Use Statement
University policy establishes restrictions regarding the access and use of University technology resources such as computers, computer systems, network, services, storage and emails. Students and staffs are obligated to protect university computing system from illegal or damaging actions, either knowingly or unknowingly.
ii. Illegal File Sharing Guideline
The increased use of file sharing (peer-to-peer) software programs have led to significant increase in anti-piracy efforts and legislation. Peer-to-peer programs allow sharing of copyrighted music, movies and software, often without the knowledge of the users.
